Carl Sandoz is the third from the right on the third row down. Carl Sandoz was a graduate of the very last class of Pacific Academy in 1930. He then proceeded to attend Pacific College, graduating in 1934. As a student athlete, Sandoz earned 17 letters in football, basketball, track, soccer, and tennis. Sandoz played for the college for six years, including two when he was a high school student at Pacific Academy. After graduation Sandoz worked for many community service and social agencies in Portland, making a difference for his community. He was recognized for this service by the college in 1978 with an Alumni Heritage Award.
