Description

Light red/pink felt men's hat. Has light brown stripe around the brim and a light brown ribbon circling the top, with a bow and a button; hat has many brownish stains. The hat is flexible and smells heavily of mothballs or some other chemical. The description reads: "three men's hats. Men almost always wore hats, especially if going to market or to town."

General Note:

Found with Aymara artifacts, which were collected from Aymara households in the rural Altiplano countryside in the Department of Puno in Southern Peru. They were collected in the 1960s from Aymara Friends church, in the Juli, Ilave, and Ilave Penninsula areas of Peru
