Description

Weesner served the city of Newberg and George Fox College over the course of a rich lifetime. A civil engineering graduate from Indiana, Weesner moved all the way to Newberg to work as a land surveyor, and later taught mathematics at the college. Until his personal retirement in 1970, Weesner worked the custodial position with the Newberg Friends Church, a position which involved his children and gradchildren over decades of paying for room and board. Many of the streets and building areas of Newberg were surveyed by Weesner. He served also as chairman of the trustees at the Oregon Yearly Meeting of Friends, a clerk for the local and area church divisions, and the treasurer of the Yearly Meeting.
