Abstract
The article points out the potential of religious syncretism to ensure the political, social and economic security of Ukraine. The interpretation of religious syncretism not only as a sociocultural phenomenon, but also as a process of formation of this phenomenon is substantiated. The study singled out the stage of interfaith dialogue from the process of religious syncretism, which should form the basis for mutual understanding of faiths. This stage is considered as a multi-level communication of churches with separate structural directions, including the communicative direction of the denomination-society, in particular, the issue of economic and social security, and interfaith communication. Specific peculiarities, prerequisites for interfaith dialogue, contributing and opposing factors are indicated. It is indicated that the process of religious syncretism is influenced by two main groups of factors: external and internal. External include: political, military, economic, social circumstances of the functioning of denominations, internal - processes within religious communities and church institutional structures. It is noted that the process of religious syncretism should be based on an operational assessment of the level of balance and imbalance of these factors for each denomination. It is indicated that the incentive and goal of the process of religious syncretism is to reduce the level of threats to the believers, denominations and the country, and the unification process itself should take place as a countermeasure. It is indicated that the biggest obstacle to the process of religious syncretism is that the conflict between the two Orthodox denominations of Ukraine to which the majority of the believers of the country belong, has a value-based character. Also provided are practical recommendations for institutional structures to promote the process of religious syncretism.
