Abstract
A comprehensive analysis of the digitalization processes affecting the religious sphere in Ukraine in the context of the society global informatization and the full-scale war. The study outlines current approaches to understanding digitalization and the concept of Digital Religion, which is based on the interaction between the online and offline dimensions of religious life. Digital technologies do not replace traditional forms of religious activity, rather, they expand the possibilities for their implementation by creating new models of spiritual communication, pastoral ministry, religious education, and the formation of religious communities. The paper analyzes main areas of digital religious practices in Ukraine, including online services, livestreamed liturgies, and the use of social networks, video platforms, and messengers in the activities of religious organizations. Digital platforms perform not only informational but also pastoral, educational, social, mobilizational, psychological, and communicative functions, thereby contributing to the maintenance of the spiritual unity of Ukrainian society. On the basis of sociological research, the study examines public attitudes toward the Church’s use of modern digital technologies, identifies the main age-related peculiarities in the perception of the religious sphere’s digital transformation, and confirms a high level of public support for the development of digital formats of religious activity. The conclusion is drawn that the digitalization of religious life in Ukraine has become a stable direction in the development of contemporary religious institutions and an integral component of the spiritual, communicative, and social activity of the Church.
