Separating the Wheat From the Chaff: What's Really Important in Library Website Design?

Abstract

After reviewing the latest research on library website design, the author describes a framework for deciding when and how to incorporate new technologies into the library website, and suggests possible faith integration implications for various aspects of web design. Evidence-based best practices for designing engaging and usable library websites on a limited budget are also described. Note: This article is based on a presentation at the 2011 Association of Christian Librarians conference; the original presentation and sample code may be found at http:// home.apu.edu/~kstephenson/.
